Practice song transitions. Keep them tight and orderly. You can announce things between songs, thank the bartender, or jump straight into the next song, whatever is your style. But DON’T:

• practice between songs.
• play a riff from the upcoming song. SPOILER ALERT!
• tune out loud.
• noodle. STOP IT. JUST STOP.
• have a group meeting about what song to play next. you should know this already.
• be intoxicated. your banter is not as clever as you think it is.
